Stonesfield Primary School offers a wide range of enrichment opportunities within the school day. Forest School is a major part of our school curriculum for all year groups and has multiple benefits. During these sessions children can work towards their Junior Forester Award. Oxfordshire Music Service teach our Year 5 children a musical instrument (in 2023-2024, the Djembe Drums) and also offer individual and small group tuition. Windrush Bike Project offer Bikeability cycle training levels 1-3 resulting in our Year 6 children having the skills and confidence to cycle to Marlborough School in Woodstock.
Sport
At Stonesfield School we strongly believe children need to be active. To enable this goal, we provide a range of activities at playtime and lunchtimes for children to get involved in which runs alongside our comprehensive PE curriculum. At play and lunchtimes, we encourage a variety of games from cricket, basketball, and hockey to bowls and dodgeball. These games are also covered in lessons along with dance, gymnastics and orienteering.
In addition to this, Stonesfield Primary School is part of the Woodstock Partnership and throughout the year children participate in a range of sports and activities alongside other local schools.
This creates chances for interschool competition and offers children the experience of competitive sport.
